What Pinnora costs, and how money gets in and out

Most of what you do on Pinnora is free. Where something does carry a fee, the app shows it before you confirm, next to what will arrive.

What is free

  • Your account. Opening an account and keeping it costs nothing.
  • Paying in by bank transfer or crypto. Pinnora charges nothing. Your own bank, or the network you send crypto on, may charge you for sending.
  • Shares, funds and IPOs. Buying and selling them from an asset’s page carries no fee.
  • Moving money around. Moving anything between your funding wallet and your trading account is instant and free, and so is sending money to another member by their @username.
  • Funding a savings plan from other holdings. Anything converted is valued at Pinnora’s current prices, with no conversion fee.
  • Repaying a loan early. There is no arrangement fee and no early-repayment fee.

What carries a fee

Money leaving Pinnora

A withdrawal, or a send to a bank account or address outside Pinnora, carries a fee for its method and asset, worked out below.

Crypto trades

Buying or selling crypto can carry a trading fee, a share of the trade, the same on an asset’s page and on the Trade page. The fee at the moment: none.

Borrowing

A loan costs its interest, at 8.9% APR or less, fixed when it opens. An Empowerment facility is repaid at the rate quoted when you applied.

Some savings and investment plans charge a share of your money if you take it out within an early window. A plan that does says so, and asks you to accept it, before you join; the app then shows exactly what you would receive before you confirm a redemption.

Every fee is shown before you confirm. On the Trade page, if the fee goes up while you are confirming, the order stops and asks you again rather than charging you more than you were shown.

How a withdrawal fee is worked out

Each way of taking money out has three figures: a flat fee, a percentage of the amount, and a smallest fee. The fee is the flat fee plus the percentage, or the smallest fee if that comes to more. It is worked out in dollars and taken in the asset you withdraw, at Pinnora’s current price.

To a bank account

The fee: a flat $1.50.

To a crypto address

The fee: 0.1% of the amount, at least $0.80.

A few assets have figures of their own. Whichever applies, the withdrawal screen shows the exact fee and what will arrive before you confirm, and the notification that confirms your request repeats it.

Ways to pay in

  • Bank transfer. The app gives you the account to pay and a reference to quote, so the money can be matched to you.
  • Crypto. Choose the coin and the network, and the app shows the address, the exact amount and a QR code. Send only on the network shown.

Every deposit is a request that is checked against the money that actually arrived before it is credited to your funding wallet, and you are notified the moment it is. The smallest deposit is $1. Cash is held in US dollars, and the app can show your balances in the currency you choose.

Ways to take money out

Withdraw to a bank account or a crypto address, once your identity is verified. Each withdrawal asks you to confirm it is you — with your password or a passkey — unless you did so in the last ten minutes. It shows as in progress while it is processed, and you are notified when it has been sent. If it cannot be completed, the money comes back to your funding wallet.

Withdrawals and sends to outside addresses count towards a daily limit of $25,000, which starts again at midnight UTC. Transfers to other members do not count towards it. A single order, a buy or a sale, can be worth up to $1M.
